PolyClay Emporium for Polymer Clay
Mixing Instructions for Black Cherry Polymer Clay
Create Black Cherry using two vibrant Sculpey Souffle polymer clay colors: Cherry Pie and Poppy Seed..
Follow These Simple Steps:
Step 1: Thoroughly condition your polymer clay until it's soft and pliable.
Step 2: Roll your clay to the thickest setting on your pasta machine (alternatively, use an acrylic roller with clay placed between two stacks of 5 playing cards each for consistent thickness).
Our mixing system uses one-inch squares as the foundation, which can be divided into halves, quarters, or eighths. Start with piece A—a full one-inch square. Slice this in half to create piece B (1 x ½ inch rectangle). Cut piece B in half along the short side to make piece C (½ x ½ inch square). Finally, cut piece C in half to create piece D (¼ x ½ inch rectangle).
For metric measurements: Begin with a 2.5 cm square and follow the same division process.
Step 3: Here's your perfect Black Cherry ratio: Cut one-inch (2.5cm) squares from each color. You'll need 1 complete square of Cherry Pie and 1/4 square of Poppy Seed.
Step 4: Blend these pieces using your hands: 1 full square of Cherry Pie plus 1/4 square of Poppy Seed.
Keep rolling the clay back and forth between your palms. You'll know you're finished when the individual Cherry Pie and Black Poppy colors have completely disappeared, transforming into a beautifully unified Black Cherry shade!

Technical Note: These clay colors have been precisely measured using an electronic colorimeter, and I've included the hex color codes for your reference. Please note that the color you see may vary slightly depending on your device (phone, tablet, laptop) and screen calibration, but it should closely match the actual mixed clay color.
